Our Iowa Core & Universal Constructs Writing
Welcome to our website supporting the Visual Arts in the Iowa Core. The Art Educators of Iowa (AEI) created this resource to aid educators in understanding and implementing the state's Universal Constructs. Like 21st Century Skills, the Universal Constructs are integral to the teaching of Core content; and the Visual Arts are the perfect venue for the development of these skills and processes.
Unless otherwise noted, the available documents housed within the website have been created by the AEI Iowa Core Curriculum (ICC) Writing Team and are designed to instruct and guide teachers in implementing the Universal Constructs within the Visual Arts classroom. Our Association
ART EDUCATORS OF IOWA is a non-profit organization unified with the National Art Education Association. Our purpose is to promote excellence in visual arts education in Iowa through the advancement of knowledge and skills, professional development, service, and leadership.
We are a professional organization for those interested in the future of art education. We supply exemplary networking opportunities and collegial support for educators throughout Iowa and with educators around the world. Our Board of Directors (volunteers from around the state) meets quarterly to plan and organize these activities.
